Maritime Museum in BeaufortIn 1718 Blackbeard's ship, The Queen's Revenge, ran aground as it entered the inlet at Beaufort.  The ship sunk.  In 1996 the sunken ship was discovered and since then every October they have been recovering artifacts from the shipwreck and restoring and then placing them in the Maritime Museum.  Very interesting exhibit.

Took a little side trip to New Bern..had lunch at Stingray's..reminded us of Doug's Fish Fry in Cortland

This is the gateway to the Outer Banks...this is where you catch the ferry to Ocracoke..approx. 2 1/2 hour ride
VERY WINDYday here..40-50 mph...I can hardly stand up!
