NATCHEZ, MISSISSIPPI JANUARY 8, 2014

Headed to the Clinton, MS visitor  center  from Jackson on the morning of Jan. 8 to get info about getting on to the southern portion of the Natchez Trace Pkwy.   It was about 80 miles from here to the southern terminus just below Natchez, MS and conditions looked good.   So here we are with Gary the snail driving the Natchez Trace..the road was clear, the sun was out and the temperatures were in the 50s.

We pulled over for lunch at Owens Creek, milepost 52.4.

Here's a little info about Owens Creek...just click once if you want to enlarge it to read.

Liz & Gary the Snail on top of the waterfall at Owens Creek...mostly frozen!

This bridge over the Mississippi takes us from Natchez, MS to Vidalia, Lousianna where we will be camped for the next couple of days at the Riverview RV Park.

This is the Riverview Park...we are parked right next to the Mississippi...really a grand view.   Click on the picture once to enlarge and notice the huge barge headed up the river.   Makes me think of Mark Twain!  Tomorrow we will head back to the Natchez Trace with the car so we can visit some sights that we can't get to with the RV.
