May 24 Thursday Believe it or not, we are still in Forest City, Iowa!  Looking for more things in the area, we discovered the Hobo Museum in Britt, Iowa; again, only about 20 miles from us.  This little museum is housed in an old movie theater and includes a documentary about the hobo phenomenon that hit our country at the time of the great depression.  Many adults and  teenagers hit the rails looking for work at that time. It was a interesting side trip and the museum was very quaint.   There still is a hobo convention held each year in Britt that brings in 2,000-8,000 people.  As for us, these two hobos are hoping to hit the road today, Friday, May 25!

  1. Hope this hasn't gotten you too far off schedule -- but Liz, I love how you can make lemonade out of lemons - even finding the local "hobo museum".

  3. Terry, nice to hear from you. We left Forest City yesterday afternoon and are on our way to MT. Rushmore. One positive thing about our stay at Winnebago was that it gave us a chance to meet some great fellow travelers. Enjoy your weekend! Gary
