Alaska – Soldotna Day 1

July 4 Wednesday Got up early this morning to grab breakfast at McDonald's and head to Whittier for our cruise to Prince William Sound. To reach Whittier, you have to drive through a mountain tunnel which is about 2.5 miles long. This tunnel is shared with a train so going into Whittier it is only open to other vehicles on the half hour. So, we had to be sure to get to the tunnel before 10:30AM to give us plenty of time to check into the cruise. We made it and boarded our ship at 11:45. The cruise was the 26 Glacier cruise and was 5 ½ hours long. It included a lunch of fish & chips, a snack bar, and regular bar.  We had a great time!
