Wine tasting!!!  Brandon had to work today so couldn't join us.

Bought a bottle of wine and had a picnic on the porch at the winery.

A northern point of the Natchez Trace Parkway.  This is a federally constructed parkway to commemorate the Natchez Trail which was first an old Indian Trail and then a "Boatman's Trail" which was beaten out by men from the Ohio Valley.   They would bring goods to sell down the Mississippi on barges to Spanish Louisianna in the mid  1700s - to the early 1800s and when they sold their goods (even the lumber from which their barges were built) they walked home from Natchez/New Orleans back to Ohio.  This was before the steamboats were invented.

This is the Double Arch Bridge at mile marker 438.0 of the Natchez Trace Parkway. This is the nation's first arch bridge constructed with segments of concrete and it spans 1,648 ft.  You can get an idea of it's breadth and height by the perspective of Katie and me standing beneath it.
